I worked at Hibbett Sports part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to interact with a wide variety of customers
Its easy to get the days off you want within reason. As a part time employee you can easily balance family, friends, and school but don't expect to get more than 15hrs/week
It is a fairly simple job, but keep in mind this results in low compensation
The very relaxed atmosphere lets you have a lot of fun.

    Cons

Very poor communication between corporate and local stores, it is hard for us to meet sales goals when we don't know what they are.
The training orientation program isn't useful
Holiday hours are really long and cut into family time, but that is just retail
    Some goals are very unrealistic

    Advice to Management

Poor communication down from the chain of command leaves sales associates clueless when it comes to sales, promotions, and other aspects of the store. Improved communication would greatly help in all aspects.

I worked at Hibbett Sports (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is good when you just need a part time job. The schedule is generally flexible.

    Cons

After you reach the level of store manager or head coach there is little room for advancement. You can advance but there are few positions that come open in the district manager position. Also the 48 hour work week for just over $30,000 is not great.

    Advice to Management

It would be helpful to pay managers closer to the industry standard in comparable retail stores.

    Better pay, more recognition

    Pros

A great and fun positive atmosphere with a flexible work schedule. An easy job with not a lot of stress.

    Cons

The pay is horrible for all employees especially management. The district managers leave a mile long list of things to do.
