I worked at Hibbett Sports full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible hours, genuinely enjoyed it.

    Cons

Really low pay. I was making around $9 an hour as a college student about to graduate from a major university in a related field.

    Advice to Management

Offer more money incentive to your employees that go the extra mile.

    Pros

Fairly easy job, benefits, breaks are given, 25% discount.

    Cons

terrible pay, favoritism is shown, standing for long periods of times, if you're not a head coach you should give up being free on the weekends, stores are limited the number of hours they can give so employees don't get a lot of hours.

    Advice to Management

    fix

I have been working at Hibbett Sports full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

25% employee discount with popular merchandize

    Cons

Micro managed, paint by numbers merchandizing, substandard pay.

    Advice to Management

Business model does not fit "hometown store" objective. Not nimble enough to compete with big box stores.

I worked at Hibbett Sports full-time

    Pros

gained management learning experience while employed with them

    Cons

Had feelings that because most of our team members were college students that we were not taken seriously in our jobs from higher up management (not our store manager higher up)

I worked at Hibbett Sports full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discount on clearance at best. Not a good company to work for to be honest. It was a great resume builder.

    Cons

Upper management. Pay. No growth within the company. No work/life balance. I worked 7 days a week and still didn't seem good enough. Terrible.

    Advice to Management

Pay better. Get better product. Higher better upper management.

I worked at Hibbett Sports full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Maybe the 25 percent discount.
    The Benefits were very good
You don't have to be a genius to work at this job. You learn self reliance.

    Cons

No home work life balance. The pay is terrible, the training is non-existant, the shoes are garbage, the upper management will lie to your face, repeatedly! You will be accused of things all the time. You will be forced to work with people that will accept this level of pay. People at the home office are condescending and rude. If you want to keep your job, keep your head down and mouth shut. This is not a job from which you retire unless you don't have other options.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with dignity, learn about constant improvement! A lesson in lean would be helpful.

I have been working at Hibbett Sports full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

25% employee discount on all items, including clearance. Good starter job if you're just trying to get through high school, or if you're just a college student looking for extra change. No place to be in search of a career.

    Cons

Long work week with inconsistent hours, you rarely get consecutive days off in a row. You have to work 1 12 hour shift a week. You don't get proper lunch breaks. Little to no enthusiasm to be your best because you won't be compensated or recognized for it. No ways to make extra money, no commission, no bonus checks. You'll work most weekends. There is no chance of hoping to maintain another job due to the inconsistency of the schedule. This job takes away the most valuable thing you have... Your time. They will force you to transfer stores and make you commute to your new work place without offering any raise or compensation. I've had 7 years of retail experience prior to employment and I was only offered $11 per hour even though I felt $15 was fair.
