I have been working at Higher One part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They offer the most extensive and ongoing training that I have ever received. They keep the employees abreast of all regulations, changes, and company information. The culture, benefits, and overall work environment are incredible.

    Cons

It can be challenging when dealing with people who are upset about a situation. While you must hear the brunt of their anger, it is rewarding to find solutions for them. It took a long time to become a permanent employee and after two and a half years I am still only part time.

    Advice to Management

Create a method to advance personnel quicker and offer more time to those who have remained loyal.

I have been working at Higher One part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Work from home....No Commute
    Pay is great
I worked from 6pm- 11pm so it allowed me to use this job as just a supplement to my current income.
The training hours and pay is the same as working hours and pay. You go through the training material at your own pace.
The calls that you receive are not difficult at all you are basically just dealing with college students and occasionally their parents.

    Cons

I have no cons I enjoyed this job.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. When you need help or assistance very responsive. I love the way training is setup and the pay is great.

    Pros

The Culture, lunches, PTO and fruit are great ad ons. The technology they supply is also a great and very useful.

    Cons

The health benefits are not great but are like most others. They offer a high deductible plan and a low deductible plan. It is a major health company so finding a primary is not hard.

    Pros

Allows you to Work from Home, which is the best of other all. Pay scale decreased for new employees from when I started.

    Cons

Did not provide fair Scheduling for the tenured employees. Which caused a higher turnover. Started great but soon as the company went public working for them became more difficult. Great opportunity for any one that wants to work from home.

    Advice to Management

Work with tenured employees on scheduling

I have been working at Higher One part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good training if you are comfortable with self study.
Decent pay for this job type.
High respect from co-workers via chat and email.

    Cons

Company policies are not understood by many customers which makes them angry and difficult to deal with.
Job is remote in a financial industry hence Higher One is hesitant to give too much responsibility to remote workers. Would like more responsibility.

    Advice to Management

Your treatment of workers is outstanding. Only suggestion would be to allow remote workers to have more responsibility so job is not so rote and monotonous.
