    Pros

    Fast-paced, challenging work environment. Intelligent and capable directors/vice-presidents. Know how to push staff for best results. Focus on leading with results.

    Cons

    Long hours (60-70 per week), compensation is not where it should be relative to similar firms (i.e. Huron, Accenture, etc.). Vacation doesn't usually mean vacation.

    Advice to Management

    Would be helpful to learn of significant financial events prior to year-end/bonus time when everyone realizes that they won't be compensated relative to individual expectations.

    Pros

    Employees develop a good array of analytical skills and learn to perform under pressure.

    Cons

    inexperienced managers, sub-par salary/bonus and a total communication breakdown between all parties. Also, everything is a secret and you have to do things you may be pricipally opposed to (such as lying to vendors to obtain pricing).

    Advice to Management

    Be honest with your employees, it goes a long way.

    Pros

    Pay was decent, benefits were okay.
    Travel was sporadic and not Monday through Thursday like many firms.
    Sufficient support staff numbers.

    Cons

    Leaders try to impose hierarchical structure on minimally staffed projects that should be flat.
    Associates forced to underreport hours so that senior managers (who may do little or no work on projects) can bill more time

    Advice to Management

    Managers need to learn to lead.
    Hire good people and let them do their best work instead of trying to supervise.
    If you want associates to bring business, take your thumbs off of them.
