I worked at Hill's Pet Nutrition full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Time Flexibility, Product Line, Vet Recommended, great team mates. Benefits and base line pay if you negotiate well.

    Cons

Limited advancement unless you want to move to Topeka, KS or pick up and move away from extended family. Sales Management Org. is very clicky and hopefully you are in the good ol’ boys club. Try promoting or hiring qualified people other than men and/or clueless people whose resume looks great but skills don’t match the need. The market has changed and they are behind the game.

    Advice to Management

Does it matter? The upper management changes and comes over from Colgate or Colgate Europe with no experience with US pet food. This will never change and isn’t going to get better.

Value good employees, recognize talent and skill sets and offer remote advancement opportunities. Think outside of your “corporate box”. The corporate office mindset will be the demise of this company- GO OUT IN THE FIELD AND LISTEN TO WHAT CUSTOMERS WANT!!
