I have been working at Hilliard Lyons full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people (employees) are what make it great. It's like having a second family.

    Cons

Technology has been a little slow to advance. Pay has been slow to advance and keep up with cost of living.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more to avoid turnover. We have really great people. We just need to get them to stay. Specifically, branch staff base salaries should be better and based upon experience and FC's assisted. For example, someone with 20 years experience who assists 3 top producing brokers should be paid a higher base salary than someone who assists one broker and has 10 years experience.

I have been working at Hilliard Lyons (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Company Culture. Everyone I work with is very nice and hardworking. I enjoy going to work every day and do not dread dealing with my superiors. Also a great place to start as a first year job because there are less people competing for positions and an easier environment to learn the business. Work/Life balances is great as well.

    Cons

Most of the employees that I work with are towards the back end of their career and the technology is lagging. The pay is pretty standard and benefits aren't great.

    Advice to Management

Make more of an incentive for progress and success instead of a just getting by. Communication from higher level staff could improve as well.
