I have been working at Hilti Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

strong in developing sales professionals to other areas like marketing, sales, Hr, finances, product management. Strong brand reputation and presence in the construction market. Decent comp plan, very challenging to grow base salary. 10% turnover rate, excellent for long-term career, do your job and never get fired.

    Cons

low market share, expensive but not necessarely the best tools/brand in the market/segment. Complicated bonus structure, changing every year. Execs do not listen to sales people's requets, trust outsiders more then own people.

    Advice to Management

Get real about company's challenges and focus on key products and markets. Compensate employees/teams better and take in consideration their cost of living on large cities vs. low cost towns. Complex and difficult bonus structures with mistakes in reports creates a lot more frustration than you imagine to your sales people. Management has unbalanced compensation and tenure/experience is not valued, really?

I worked at Hilti Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work ethic from all employees. The sales force employees are best in class. Amazing, quality tools. Customer service team is the best in the industry. Consistently thinking ahead in terms of market reach strategy that drives fastening system innovations. Above average compensation.

    Cons

Compensation comes with a price; you will be worked beyond your capacity. Work/life balance is not seen as a priority for team leads. As a private company with a direct sales strategy, if your functional area of competence is not in sales or engineering, change and innovation will be extremely slow. Functional area training is sub-par and at best just below average. The freedom to fail, and grow from taking risks is not welcomed. The management team in Switzerland is seen as authoritarian.

    Advice to Management

Focusing too intently on the numbers, you may find yourself unable to see the forest for the trees, so lay off your power trip and provide your employees with encouragement to press on when they fail, celebrate them when they succeed, and encourage feedback for continuous improvement.

    Cons

    Advice to Management

    Bad
