I have been working at Hilton Homewood Suites full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Incentives for sale outs. Family oriented team, understanding management. No limits to making a guest happy. Cash rewards occasionally for positive reviews

    Cons

Pay, occasionally hiring bad team players, rude customers, having to work late if your recovering shift is late no matter what you have to do, management not always fair, front desk management sits all day (doesn't help much) ,

    Advice to Management

If you don't stand all day at your desk don't require it from team members ESPECIALLY when it's slow. At least incorporate 15 min breaks. Along with the 30 min break. It's not professional to have irritated underpaid sore feet employees ( I understand if we were walking around BUT standing in one spot for 8 hrs is not cool). Also, the company makes hundreds of thousands of dollars for sales just because the front desk agents are in starter or lower positions than you doesn't mean we don't know GM's get paid a bonus for FRONT DESK, HOUSEKEEPING, and MAINTENANCE's hard work while you sit at a desk and file papers all day and occasionally show your face when there is an irate customer. For the most part WE not YOU deal with the madness SO the least you could do is give incentives.

    Pros

Get to work with people and computer systems. Night audit is by yourself so have time to do homework if a college student.

    Cons

If you need help you do not really get it from management as they are not there during the night audit hours.

    Advice to Management

Raise our wages above minimum wage.

    Pros

Guests were nice. Operations and sales Managers are great.

    Cons

General Manager could care less if fully staffed. Hires you for 1 position and has you doing another, then cuts you from position hired for. Failed to discuss if you would like to move departments. Would be a nice place to work if they would get a new GM.

    Advice to Management

Needs to realize that long term employees and turn over rate is because of the GM. I would have stayed if she was replaced.

I have been working at Hilton Homewood Suites full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

a full eight hour shift that is not hard on the body and easy to complete the task
knowing that your hard work is what keeps the place sanitized and clean of odors and filth

    Cons

    get paid bi-weekly
the staff and quite unprofessional and unorganized and the facility is in poor condition for people to inhabit even though it is cleaned the building needs serious repair.

    Advice to Management

needs some improvements on work conduct and training classing with staff and management teams as well as huddles so that everyone knows what needs work on and what is being done and to as show approval of what the staff is doing properly
