I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The atmosphere, the colleagues, the guests. The perks of the company and the many development opportunities

    Cons

There are very little cons. Even those that are valid run throughout the industry, so not really a con.

    Pros

Working with Hilton brings the family feel from home to work. I feel empowered by my colleagues and management to share the idea's I have whilst being supported in the decision's I make. The training and development Hilton offer's you exceeds your expectations, whilst if you show passion, commitment and enthusiasm for what you do, in return Hilton invests and recognises you as an individual.

    Cons

The influx of new marketing and promotions can be overwhelming and hard to learn and implement. Example, Meet with Purpose, Meetings Simplified, Ready to Rise, Travel with Purpose are all great incentives however implementing them within the property is hard as there is not one focus at a time.

    Advice to Management

Understanding the workload that your team has and supporting in area's they wish to learn more about.

I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It is a nurturing environment, where hard work pays off. A great appreciation for talent, and the development opportunities are almost endless.
    Fantastic place to work!

    Cons

Compensation packages for middle management and lower, are trailing quite a bit behind other industries (i.e. banking, transport, manufacturing...)

    Advice to Management

Do appreciate our operational staff a bit more. A lot of appraisal and benefits seem to be given to non-ops people (finance, HR, sales etc..)

I have been working at Hilton full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Easy recruitment process on careers Ap
Great Team work and customer satisfaction
Lots of development and training opportunities and recognition for job well done.
    Good management team

    Cons

Can't think of anything apart from maybe the uniform could be more traditional for the different departments across all hotels as not the same but that's not necessarily a con

    Advice to Management

Carry on with the regular staff events

I worked at Hilton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team I worked with was amazing and really allowed to enjoy the place you worked. Management was sound but demanding. There were regular personal development reviews with your next levels supervisor where you could set a goal for yourself for the next half a year. Management was also flexible with cross-exposure in a different department, however it had to be fit in the rota in advance.

    Cons

The hotel was very big (800 rooms) and at times shifts were under-staffed which made guests really angry.

    Advice to Management

Overall it was a great place to work!

    Pros

Good training and development opportunities. Team culture and charity work is a big focus, as is rewarding and recognising good work.

    Cons

Overworked staff in all departments. Terrible pay and disjointed objectives. Disconnect between FOH and BOH

    Advice to Management

Invest in staff at lower levels to reduce turnover. pay fair wages for full time work. Unpaid internships from a large company such as Hilton are unfair,
