    Pros

The insurance is the best I ever had, Nicely scheduled, very good perks,

    Cons

    Management, management, management,
Very bad with communication, sometimes work could be so stressful you wouldn't have any energy to do anything else your personal life.. Management's false promises.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to some of your employees. If your employees has a problem sit down brainstorm and try to fix the situation to not try to put it away. Please do not procrastinate if there is a problem or it will get worse and you will lose great workers..

I have been working at Hilton part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The values of Hilton stand strong, and there is constant training from high above to better the company as a whole. Travel benefits are great also! Plenty of opportunity to grow with the company.

    Cons

The specific property I work at is a smaller one of <200 rooms, and there's pro's and cons to that factor. Biggest issue I have is when things need to get fixed, it takes weeks, sometimes months. We have a constant leak above the lobby, elevators are on and off, sometimes for weeks. We only have 2 Ice machines that work out of the 7 floors we have, there is mold growing on the ceiling in the back office, and we have residential toilets that overflow constantly, ruining our brand new renovated rooms, along with other various minor things that add up when a guest looks at our hotel specifically.

    Advice to Management

Fix what needs to get fixed on a more timely manner, listen to front line employees especially when it affects both employees AND guest.

I worked at Hilton full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great Employee Benefits
    Build A Schedule
    Work From Home
Cheap Hotel Stays at some of the best hotels in the world
    Excellent PART TIME job.

    Cons

    Co-workers are rude
On-site Call Center in Tampa is toxic
    They don't pay much
The managers are not professional at all (they talk about firing people on the sales floor)
Outsourcing American jobs to third world countries.

    Advice to Management

Train people on professionalism and etiquette.
I'm glad that you guys are making a concentrated effort to hire former and current military members.
Have a third person listen in on all manager meetings with their staff, some the on site managers are horrible.
Help Desk manager is horrible and terribly inconsistent.
Be realistic, internal staff should be just as polite to each other as they are to customers.

I worked at Hilton full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Liked the people and the culture a lot. Provided meals for employees in employee lounge room. Good job security.

    Cons

They are extremely cheap with raises and wages. Despite having years of experience, my raise was only $0.50 an hour when promoted to a new management position; and $0.25 an hour for every year I worked. They barely want to put anyone on salary.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees what they're worth. Don't be surprised when your best employees are leaving due to poor pay, and you can't hire anyone decent with the pay you're offering - what you pay is a JOKE and nobody can live on that.
