I have been working at Hinduja Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Opportunities for advancement are there
    Co-workers can become strong connections
    Recognition

    Cons

    Low rate of pay
    Inconsistent management
    High turnover
Low morale among employees; overworked and underpaid on certain accounts
Policies sporadically change; always confusion about what the new ones are and/or when they'll take effect

    Advice to Management

Upon hire, you honestly inform employees of the constant change within the company, however you vastly under-exaggerate how much change actually takes effect. PLEASE, as a business, find some solidarity within management. You fail to realize how this directly relates to the negative energy and high turnover among extremely valuable, skilled employees.

I worked at Hinduja Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I worked for this company for almost 20 years. If you're looking for an easy way to make (some) money and have patience then this is a great spot to work. They offer remote work from home positions if you live in certain areas, however most training needs to take place in center. The people are friendly, the building at the OP location is updated, and most managers do try to work with you on any issues that arise. It's a basic contact center position and depending on the client you are lined up with will decide your happiness. They like to promote from within so if you are dedicated, goal driven, make it to work every day, and have a decent head on your shoulders then you have pretty good chances at promotion. While every one enjoys getting their butt kissed by employees it doesn't bode well if you are looking to be promoted, it's an annoying trait in someone looking to move up. You really need to know your audience - whether it be the customers on the phone, middle or upper management.

    Cons

Base pay hasn't changed in 17 years. What used to be a primo place to get hired because pay was $4-5 above state min wage, is now just min wage for most accounts. To stay on top this company needed to continue raising pay to keep their high standards of service. While the managers will try to do everything they can to help out front line employees, they can't always do anything they still have to work with upper management to try to make special accommodations and it doesn't always work out. This was never an issue with employees who understood company policies more, until more recent years and is most likely due to the newest group entering the workforce being less willing to work within the guides. And may have some to do with the pay being too low for them to really care to follow the rules.

    Advice to Management

Look into increasing pay to be more competitive, alas there are hardly any other contact centers in the area so that may be why it isn't a priority more (aside from parent company in India not allowing it).

    Pros

    Decent benefits.
    Friendly work environment.

    Cons

    Pay rate
    Hours (flex schedule, nights, weekends)

    Advice to Management

Consider raising pay rate caps to prevent turn over. While starting wages are about average for the area, you basically have no reward to stay at this job for an extended period of time.
