I have been working at Hirschbach Motor Lines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great miles. Some weeks I'll get 3200 in 6 days and some only 2200 but in the end it makes for a great yearly salary. Home every weekend and great equipment with low miles. Rare to have breakdown problems.

    Cons

Bumpy at 1st I'll admit there were some weeks I'd barely get 2k miles but after some stern phone calls and showing them I was here to work they turned it around. Company drivers trucks are set at 61!!! Ridiculous and in my opinion a little dangerous.

    Advice to Management

If you don't want drivers to speed when not on the interstate then ease off the restrictors. We're out here to run and will make up for lost time any way possible.

I worked at Hirschbach Motor Lines full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Recruiters will get you a rental car to get to Orientation but if Management don't like you once you complete Orientation, they will forge false information n your DAC Report and take away your orientation Bonus and send you home on a Bus that is overcrowded with sick travelers.

    Cons

Make promises that they have no intentions of keeping to new drivers.

    Advice to Management

Return the Orientation Bonus that you took from your last Recruit.

I worked at Hirschbach Motor Lines full-time

    Pros

Relaxed management- as in you barely are managed- young atmosphere

    Cons

Promises are not kept, people are laid off or fired left and right for no good reason other than they are losing too much money that month and need to cut a salary. No job security- mandated 45-50 hours a week and no raises as they are replaced with bonus programs that aren't attainable. Very stressful atmosphere that you take home with you at night. Boys club management team that promotes the favorites and the others are replaced as they see fit.

    Advice to Management

Stop seeing $$$ and look at employees lives.

    Pros

Good hours. Ok pay chance to move up.

    Cons

They want one person to take care of the entire fleet and when things are not getting fixed fast enough you get the blame. You are supposed to get the outside shots work faster.

I worked at Hirschbach Motor Lines full-time

    Pros

There is free stuff sometimes like food or a t-shirt if you work in the office.

    Cons

They'll make promises that they'll never keep. Executive team is full of themselves and changes gears constantly so there's no consistency in plans or rules. Pay is terrible unless you're a favorite (aka party buddy of the management team). Can't trust management or HR. Watch your back, you think you're safe but they'll just lay people off and hire different ones for cheaper pay.

    Advice to Management

Sell the company. Someone else can run it better.

    Great people, interesting work, flexible.

    Cons

Accounting system is old and inflexible. They are working on it, though

I worked at Hirschbach Motor Lines full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Night and weekend pay incentives. Tool purchasing plan. Nice shop.

    Cons

Trying to look busy when there is no work to be done. (How many times can you mop a floor?)

    Advice to Management

Research other company's shops see how they run. Pick the pros then apply what was researched.
