I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great People. They are pretty much why I've stayed.
    - Comparable benefits (Health / Work-Life Balance / Retirement) are right around the industry standard.
    - Challenging work, with flexibility.

    Cons

    - Not much room for advancement.
    - Pay is slightly less than what you would find in a similar position elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with the changes (technology / tools / etc.), and make sure that transparency is your ultimate goal.

I worked at Hitachi Consulting (More than a year)

    Pros

Variety of work - You can work for clients in a range of industries
Travel - You get to travel all around the country (can flex on the weekends to different locations)
Colleagues - People genuinely want you to succeed

    Cons

Lack of ability to pick projects
Skill set mismatch - You might be placed on projects that have nothing to do with your skills, experience, or interests
Hours - Depending on the project and deadlines, you might work 60+ hours (however 45 hours is the norm)
Pay - Pay is slightly below the industry (the company is working on improving the situation with quarterly bonuses)

    Advice to Management

Improve feedback mechanism and offer better options to select projects that fit with career aspirations.

I worked at Hitachi Consulting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This was a good company; good collaborative atmosphere; Company stimulates your development and progress throughout your career. line in any consulting company with 100% travel, you have to be ready to travel extensively.

    Cons

Company could invest a bit more in the development of the employees. maybe allow bigger budget for consultants to take more classes.

    Advice to Management

Management need to increase the budget for all educational activities for employees: cover classes in employee's line of development, reimburse for take exams, etc..

I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great culture, small enough to know a lot of people at the company and have a strong network while maintaining that family feel
    - Flexibility to move to different locations
    - Great industry exposure
    - Excellent work-life balance
    - Mentorship program at all levels, but entry level consultants get the most support/guidance

    Cons

    - Salary is not as high as other consultancies, but we also aren't working 60+ hours every week
    - Diversity of projects is not as big as other consultancies due to our size, although still good projects

I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Engaged and open practice and executive leadership
    - Emphasizes a well-rounded consultant and not just pure technical skills
    - Provides opportunities for those that desire different career path - technical vs functional/managerial
     - Able to get engaged in projects earlier on when compared to bigger firms - get experience faster

    Cons

    - Experiencing growing pains after re-alignments
    - Can be difficult to attract talent because name is not widely known
    - Support services (HR, Operations, Recruiting, etc...) is a little short staffed compared to current size and growth projections
    - Limited budget for vendor training
    - Difficult to get buy-in for non-billable initiatives even if, long-term, the investment is worth it
    - Because consultants ramp up their skills more quickly, find that large firms are pursuing them more actively which leads to some turnover of really good, young talent and a mid/top heavy organization
