I worked at Hitachi Consulting full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed how professional yet personal the employees were. Dynamic atmosphere where I sincerely felt that people cared about me in all senses

    Cons

My position was rescinded due to the difficult year of transition that the company experienced. This was a disappointment but an understandable situation.

    Advice to Management

Wishing the company all the best in this year of transition and change.

I worked at Hitachi Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Very nice people to work with.
    - Poor attitudes are not commonplace.
    - A lot of independence.
    - You can have a good work life balance on most projects.
    - Old business model was unsustainable so it seems like they've realized that and are trying to turn the company in a more sustainable direction.

    Cons

    - So few projects to get on to the point that it almost isn't consulting.
    - Lack of respect for technical employees. You try to be a technology consulting company, but you don't pay your technical people. This simply does not work.
    - They moved to a solutions based company when they had almost no internal talent to make solutions. You can't have technology clueless VPs coming up with business concepts and expecting that to produce significant revenue. This transition appears to have been handled poorly.
    - Poor pay

    Advice to Management

Cut more jobs of middle managers who don't really provide value to your new solution based business (this includes VPs, Directors, Managers) and pay people much who actually have technical skills.

Start interviewing testing for technical skills much more heavily. Not just a behavioral interview for someone who will be programming every day. This is crucial for your success.

You need to get good at hiring technical talent and paying them market value. Connect with a legit tech recruiting company to get talent. You've shown the inability to attract good technical talent.

Come up with specific areas of focus of new technology. Don't say you're targeting 4 different trillion dollar industries (that really means nothing!). Decide on focused areas within broad categories like IOT or Cloud. Align your company vertically so that you know exactly what specific markets your attacking and make sure you have the talent to provide good solutions in those areas. Stop hiring broad talent for broad possibilities of work.

    Pros

Had a positive interview experience and was offered a position

    Cons

Was offered a position in November of 2015, during my senior year of college. Offered outstanding pay and a great package. Then, a week before my start date in 2016, they moved my start date back by 5(!!) months. It was a massive blow and screwed up my whole moving situation more than I can explain. Then, about a month later, they called to say that I no longer had a position AT ALL. I had spent almost a year of my life waiting for this position, then I got the rug pulled out from underneath me. They gave me a lame explanation about financial trouble, referred me to a placement service, and cut off all contact. I have never felt more betrayed and upset in my life.
Now, I have spent months trying to find jobs and can't find anything even close to what they offered me.

    Advice to Management

Show your new hires some respect
