To far to drive to and from to work is 108 miles 1 way and 150 in gas a week just can't afford any more

    Advice to Management

They need to be more accommodating to there employees

    I worked at Ho-Chunk full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They agreed to my asking salary and I was able to leave with minimal damage to my career.

    Cons

There is zero accountability for management, projects are a constant revolving door, they don't have their employees backs, they'll hire almost anyone with a pulse, senior management only shows up when there is a problem, micromanagers, lie about raises, are dishonest when handling workplace complaints about hostile work environments, they lied about the job description and project (I'm a senior-level consultant with 12+ years of experience and I was answering phones and taking meeting minutes), the list of issues with this company could go on forever

    Advice to Management

Close your doors. There is literally nothing redeeming about this organization.

    I worked at Ho-Chunk full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Aggressively growing, CEO is very good, forward thinking, encourages entrepreneurial thinking.

    Cons

Corporate Office in rural Nebraska. Executive management not on same page with each other. They rely heavily on federal government contracts that can be lost when it comes time to rebid for them.

    Advice to Management

Finish what you started and pay down on some debt before taking on the next big project. Prepare research based estimates for new projects. Have someone that doesn't report to that executive prepare/review the estimate to differentiate what is wishful thinking from what is most likely.

I have been working at Ho-Chunk (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great Salary, Great work life balance, wonderful HR.

    Cons

Poor Health Benefits, Very little vacation accrued per pay period, no paid sick leave, lost my job without warning found out 24 hours before that Friday was my last day.

    Advice to Management

Be up front with your employees about their position and potential to lose the position on the contract. Better medical benefits are a MUST.
