I have been working at Hoag Memorial Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fair pay rate given the surrounding area. Hoag is a strong leader in the community. Hoag has high expectations of high-quality care. Respiratory Practitioners can advance to all areas of the hospital, and follow a "clinical ladder" which will help evolve an employee, and increase a pay rate 5% for every 2 clinical ladders completed. A clinical ladder can be specific: bronchoscopy, training in NICU, PFT's, ABG coordinator, etc.

    Cons

Hoag is not known for being lenient with their employees. They follow a strict guidelines and are not afraid to enforce their policy and procedures with corrective actions. Hoag expects a lot out of their employees: 35-40 points per shift - starting. In addition to "special projects" that are expected of you to complete as a goal on your review. Moral wavers between low and medium-low as a whole.

    Advice to Management

Improve your attention to Respiratory Care.
