A slowly dying hospital
Jan 1, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Newport Beach, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great cafeteria food. Beautiful view. Clean facility.
Cons
I worked there for 6 years. Started out great then the CEO pretty much drove the place into the ground. They pour millions into making the hospital "pretty" then quietly lay off hundreds of staff, force retirement, or cut their salary. The skeleton crew left is told to work "smarter not harder." Morale is AWFUL there. There are certain managers who bully like crazy, but because they will drive relentlessly towards the bottom $$ line they basically get away with murder. Choosing to leave the company was the best decision I ever made.

Overall good experience.

Working with latest and greatest technologies, being in IT that's a major plus. Friendly co-workers and teams, excellent location, luxury setting. It's evident the money made here goes back in to the hospital - remodeling, new construction, etc. Good food in cafeteria (major plus for any hospital). Got to be a patient one time (unfortunately) and could not have asked for a better experience.
Cons
Politics like anywhere else. Hard to get something done unless you or your manager are high up the food chain. Documentation and process overkill. Furlough.

Pros
The cafeteria good food, slow inverioment. calm.
Cons
The company's been run for some individual who's been there for a long time. They think they owned it.

Challenging and distrustful due to the favoritism shown by senior leadership to certain staff.

Great location near the Pacific Ocean and in Newport Beach. The best cafeteria food.
Cons
Senior leadership does not trust the education, experience and skills of most employees. Little encouragement and help in cross-training efforts. Continuation of 'silos' within the various internal departments.

Great medical facility, great peers, some highest level management people are real losers.
Mar 19, 2012 -RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Would highly reccomend this medical facility to anyone needing healthcare. Many, many really great employees to work with there. Staff always goes out of their way to make patients and visitors welcome. Cafeteria food quality and variety is outstanding - although a bit pricey.
Cons
Some high level management are incapable of "walking the talk" when it comes to the way they treat their employees. There is often a sense of mistrust in dealing with them.

Good work-life balance, nice location, good cafeteria food.
Cons
Cattiness, cliqueyness, unfriendliness, lack of conflict resolution, lack of communication, improper training, demanding perfection, employees not given enough time to prove themselves.
