Met great people. Difficult to grow within the company
Feb 16, 2022 - Supervisor in London, EnglandRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Discount is great. It has changed over the years I've worked there but when I left the current discount was 70% off everything, but no friends and family like we had before. Also get a free uniform allowance per season. I've had some great colleagues and managers. Depending on who it is, they're usually flexible with hours. Opportunities to work at other locations for a day or even brands within tfg (Whistles and Phase 8) when needing cover. Justin the CEO is amazing and very lovely. Love that he seems to genuinely care what we want/need in the retail environment. Had the pleasure of meeting with him several times as he visits stores a lot.
Cons
No growth outside of retail which was very frustrating and led to me leaving. My store managers were very supportiveportiveportive of my career goals and gave me advise and contacts within head office (where I wanted to go since I graduated in fashion). Very disappointed to say that hiring managers for those roles did not even respond back to me even when contacting internally. But not surprised as one of my store managers left after being at the company for 11 years and still never got the head office role she was aiming for. It's a very cliquey head office community.
