I worked at Hobby Lobby part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy to get the schedule and hours you want (when you're in school or college).
Super fun place to work, get to see new things/merchandise everyday and talk to creative people.
Pay is better than at any other stores.
    Sundays are always off!!!!!

    Cons

No cones from me, loved the place.

    Advice to Management

Do autonomous survey for employees once in a while to get to know how managers manage the stores and treat employees. To get reviews from regular employees about supervisors and especially managers. Even though I loves my job and place, I had to leave the job voluntarily only because as a part time employee - manager forced me to perform all the tasks as well as hours that full time people did and I got real tired for part time pay and all the work. Sometimes I felt like I was doing more than full time employees. And I wish manager was discharged much earlier than after I left the place, because shortly after store received best manager you can ever dream of.

I have been working at Hobby Lobby full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work culture and environment here are amazing, unlike any other place I have ever worked. The management is attentive and responsive and most importantly, focused on making sure everyone has the tools they need to accomplish their tasks.

    Cons

I can honestly not think of anything to put here. Hobby Lobby has been very good to me, and I am lucky to have found an opportunity here and to have had them accept me into the Hobby Lobby family.

    Advice to Management

Continue to do exactly what you are doing now, because you foster an environment in which your employees are able to thrive and enjoy their work!

I worked at Hobby Lobby part-time

    Pros

Great pay for retail. Off on Sundays and never have to work early in the morning or late at night. Each store is a little different but I have had good experiences at the three I have worked at.

    Cons

Depending on the store management you may have a stricter dress code. Smaller stores don't have as much opportunity for advancement.

    Pros

Wonderful people, time off, being part of a family not just a job. Love the product that we carry, enjoy Sundays off to spend with family. Corporate personal are very supportive.

    Cons

Just like any company you work for there are issues. No one can say that work life is perfect and if you can please share where. I give hobby lobby a perfect 10. And I'll take the good and the bad any day with hobby lobby it's worth it.

    Advice to Management

I am currently a manager and as far as my superior's I could not ask for better leaders.

I have been working at Hobby Lobby full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is an excellent health plan set in place. In addition, the 401K plan set aside for retirement is also beneficial. The pay scale supercedes that of almost any other retailer on the National scale. Team work done by tag teaming is essential at both low and high volume store locations. The effectiveness of each store manager in the Open Door policy has been placed in motion and has been carried out effectively by most.

    Cons

Working shift work can be more difficult for some than others, however the pay supercedes any negative outcome of team work when a completed task is a job well done.

    Advice to Management

Continuous open door policy with active communication.

I worked at Hobby Lobby part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I loved working at hobby lobby, the other employees were all great and most of the customers were pretty great too! I learned so much working here and felt like my manager utilized my strengths well.
The base pay was 9.00 an hour which is pretty great for a part time entry level store employee. Also they are closed on sundays and having sundays off is important to me.

    Cons

I think they've been updated now but when I was working there they didn't have barcode scanners so everything had to be put in by hand. This was difficult and time consuming and opened up more opportunities for cashiers to make mistakes.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to rotate cashiers some especially if there's a steady flow, just so they can move a bit not get super stiff. Also it breaks up the day and gives ya more energy.

I worked at Hobby Lobby full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Not open late and great hours! Always off on Sunday. The company has good benefits. You get a raise every year.

    Cons

Freight days can be stressful. Those are the hardest days to work. There's so much to do in so little time. Customers can get mean around Christmas time.

    Advice to Management

    Be more appreciative of employees.
