    Robot managment

I have been working at Hobby Lobby full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Closed on Sundays, Christian instrumental music, 15% employee discount, limited store extended holiday hours, store closes at 8pm every night. Usually customers are in a good mood when shopping at HL because it's a treat for them to come into the store.
The products are unique and fun to look at. It can be fun to see the change of seasons with the seasonal department merchandise.

    Cons

Because there isn't any training on the products or general crafting skilled, an intermediate level of craftiness with personal knowledge of products is the best way to succeed at the job. Working under stress and with a small amount of workers on shift at any given time is very common.
Not having barcodes on the products, hence the inability scan items, causes frustration and inconvenience for the modern time-crunched customer. Price checks are a manual process.
Inventory checks for in stock on items is a manual process.
Unloading the truck is a manually strenuous process.

    Advice to Management

Consider adding barcodes. Consider adding the price of the item on the product label for easier price checks.
Implement a recycling program at stores.

Implement a mandatory time frame for store managers to release employee's schedules. Sometimes we don't have our next week's schedule until 2 days before that work week begins.

    Pros

Company culture is very positive, work-life balance is great, compensation and bonuses are above with with annual judgments above inflation rate

    Cons

Because of all the pros average tenure is very high, which leads to low turnover, which leads to limited promotion opportunities

I worked at Hobby Lobby full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Sunday and holidays are always off
    - Friendly Customers

    Cons

-Management is a mess, from hiring socially incompetent people to downright sociopaths
    - When hired for seasonal, you will work 40 hours a week, but only receive part-time pay (10$ an hour as opposed to full time at $15)
    - An environment that fosters mutual hatred and bullying by not only co-workers, but management as well
    - You're also forced to watch a video on why the Green family (Owners and Hobby Lobby) do not support birth control. It was a part of orientation and is not only offensive, but very unprofessional

    Advice to Management

Think about how you treat your employees. Hatefulness and screaming in one's face will not get you anywhere.

I worked at Hobby Lobby full-time

    Pros

There on no pros to this company, simple greed is all there is that drives them, they could care less about their customers and employees that are below district level

    Cons

They buy the cheapest inferior product available from China and have no real regard to safety for employees or customers. Continuous recalls sent to stores for mold and lead and it just gets thrown in the dumpster! No regard for employee safety when inspecting mold issues! They sell the cheapest product they can to quote "make profit" which is a slogan for them! Stay away or risk your family safety!

    Advice to Management

Start caring about those that don't work for you! Even though you barely care about those that run your stores!

I have been working at Hobby Lobby full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay for retail is amazing. The over-all atmosphere of the store seems to stay calm which is a lot different than any other retail positions I've worked.

    Cons

The work can be tough, but that's expected with retail, as is experiencing times with unhappy customers. You can't make everyone happy, and that extends to employees as well.

    Advice to Management

Please listen to your staff. We run the departments. We know what we need, time included.
