    Pros

    Cons

Dealing with scam artists. Fake money, doing and saying anything for agree room.

    Advice to Management

I think there needs to be more security. Security on every shift, more security cameras. Larger desk to protect the front desk agent in case of an attack or robbery

I worked at Holiday Inn Express full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing staff, met some interesting guests with great stories, schedule was solid but able to be flexible.

    Cons

The owner can be awful depending on the hotel since it is franchised. Front desk can't sit during their shift.

    Advice to Management

If you see an issue with an employee, speak to them first, don't fire them on the spot. Then not listen to their side of the story or give them a chance to change.

I worked at Holiday Inn Express full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The job is very easy if you're not easily offended and very friendly. I worked in this position for a long time before deciding to move on because it was fun and I was able to meet a lot of new guest whether they were long term or short stays.

    Cons

There will be times when you have to deal with a guest who finds something wrong and complains their whole stay. That becomes very frustrating because they believe nothing you offer to compensate is worth it.

    Advice to Management

Treat every one with respect because we're all human and deserve the same direction and respect whether you're a housekeeper or front desk agent.

I worked at Holiday Inn Express part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Holiday Inn and it's Franchise Standards are reasonable. They ask professionalism which can be rewarding in propelling your career. Holiday Inn can be a stepping stine to something greater

    Cons

The cons outweigh the pros particularly at the Holiday Inn Express in Rocklin,CA. The management is hostile ,contempteous and dismissive of its employees. The environment there is rife with cronyism and arbitrary with their rules you have no security there especially if you do not toe the imaginary line management has set for a minimum wage job that should not require that much thought for that little pay. Family members were subordinates under the general manager there and even one of them was paid under the table.

    Advice to Management

Raj & Sharad Patel need to exit the industry and sell their Rocklin Holiday Inn and discontinue the practice of paying under the table. Also discontinue hiring family members who work under each other as this makes an aakward and unprofessional workplace.
