I have been working at Holland Hospital full-time

    Pros

You're able to acquire paid time off immediately and it is ample. Some management staff are awesome. Co-workers understand each others frustrations and are very helful.

    Cons

There are no sick days. You work every other weekend, only get 2 days off in a row twice a month. You work every other holiday even if it's your typical day off, therefore you're PTO is used up incredibly fast just to take a day off and feel like you have a life. Always afraid I over slept because the work schedule is on again off again. Don't apply for part-time because they will schedule you in a moments notice. You have to check the schedule at the end of every day. Life is incredibly costly, imagine that, at a Hospital. Vision insurance is useless. First shift group lead doesn't have a clue how to manage people, only micro-manages for their own recognition, will not help us on the floor no matter how many people we are short because they quit. Incredibly under paid. We work hard non stop, around serious diseases and sicknesses. Our once a year bonus was only $200.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the management who are not working for the well being of everyone, or you will continue to constantly lose really good workers. Pay the housekeepers to make it all worth it, so we are able to keep finding motivation to make a difference!

I worked at Holland Hospital full-time

    Pros

Not a bad place to work but there is better out there. Employees are treated very well and management / leadership aren't that bad to work with.

    Cons

Small environment so everyone always seems to know what everyone else is doing. There is favoritism here and there but not too wide spread.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management and leadership would be to pay better, have more opportunities for advancement, and have training opportunities.

I worked at Holland Hospital full-time

    Pros

Great employees. Strong admin team. Great town. Competitive wages for hospital size. Fiscally well managed.

    Cons

Middle management is all over the place, some strong managers and directors and some very weak managers and directors. Do your due diligence regarding specific position. Advancement is limited in some areas.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and replace or fix your weaker managers.
