"I enjoy my job, however, working under the first shift group lead is equivalent to being in an abusive relationship."

    Pros

PTO (paid time off) is fantastic. Some really good team mates. Cafeteria is handy for providing nutritious meals.

    Cons

The work is very physcial and hard. Demands and rules are high. Expectations are endless. We are always short staffed (for over a year). All those challenges are doable, and okay to deal with, being short staffed is probably the most difficult. The two things causing extreme dissatisfaction are the low pay and the bullying from first shift group lead. He is not a leader, he is a controller, highly micro-manages, talks down to his workers and bullies.

    Advice to Management

The first shift group lead needs to be let go. For several years he has intimidated workers beneath him, ridiculing them and making them cry. He cuts down employees in front of others. He plays favorites. He doesn't work for the team. It's obvious to even new employees that he is just running the group according to his own desires, and ego. A leaders intentions are obvious when they are leading the people, for the people, listening to the people. However, this group lead just wants to call himself the boss. He even calls himself the supervisor, which he is not. He's just there to make himself look good. And he refuses to come help us on the floors.
