Amazing Growth
Oct 6, 2022 - Patient Care Technician in Fort Lauderdale, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
You learn a lot during your shift where you can't learn in nursing school. I applied for this job because the nurses were my guidance to my future career and they still are today. They have abet me to understand what patient care is and how team work is vital in patient care settings. As a nursing student, I have always strived to learn more and I am by watching how my nurses are conducting themselves with patient during bedside.
Cons
I would say one con about HolyCross Hospital is they have a low pay grade for patient care technicians. Usually, we start off $15.00 an hour for day shift and night shift you will have added differentials. Another, down side I see is there is lack of opportunities to grow and enhance your pay grade. I have asked two times for opportunity to grow and enhance my skillset as a patient care technician to see if I can qualify for EKG and Phlebotomy Certificate to enhance my paygrade however, they have declined.
