    Pros

    Lots of over time, new hospital tower, friendly staff, diverse patients and staff. They often reconize staff when they contribute to the safety of their patients

    Cons

    Kaiser is taking over the hospital. So more business which is good but really busy. Nurses in the ICU are almost always 3:1. The floor is even higher ratios

    Advice to Management

    Make sure you still remember the little guys

    Pros

    Would-be stressful situations weren't so because of the collaborative nature of the work environment. Co-workers are like family in each department. Compassionate, hardworking, and genuine employees, from admin to clinical staff, Everyone cares and is happy to be there. Lourdes, Elba, Lashon, Jennifer, Janelle, and Nancy in the Patient Services Dept in Germantown are just fabulous. They own that department and keep things running smoothly.

    Cons

    -internal software (Health Quest) was a outdated, but may have since been updated since I left. That's it, no other cons.

    Some would say having to work holidays and snow days, but that's part of working in a hospital. Professionals in the healthcare industry are needed 24/7, 365.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work, Holy Cross is simply the best. I've worked at neighboring Shady Grove before, and it simply doesn't compare.

    Great nurses and doctors to work with
    Annual pay increases
    Hires new grads (pro if you are one)
    Free garage parking for night and evening staff

    Cons

    High turnover rate in the ER
    Often short staffed
    There are 2 parking garages and they cant fit everyone. Often valet parking
    Dayshift new employees have to park off site and take a shuttle go get to the campus

    Good hours, slight incentives, fair employees, nice facility, good scheduling

    Pros

    The reason why I can't write a lot for the pro is because it has went down hill after the past two years. So my pros are what's currently going on vs what pros have happen in the past . So currently speaking I Have the opportunity to work extra hours and make up your time or make over time.

    Cons

    I feel the company sometimes don't respect others and talk down to each other and over working the current employee they do have and can't appreciate them. Also feel as Under staff and not just my department but the whole hospital

    Advice to Management

    Treat others with respect
    Show those that do help out more appreciation
    Hire way more staff
    Allow Internal housekeepers opportunity to grow in the business

    Great benefits package. Compensation adequate.

    Cons

    Management only cares about own image and the bottom dollar. Nurses over worked, high turnover rates, schedule/shift options limited. Also more about the money than the patient. Doctors are rude. Only cost of living adjustment. Pay rises only if you work harder to climb the clinical ladder...more certifications, participation in committees, charge nurse, continuing education, etc...does not appear to be merit based.

    Advice to Management

    Work on nurse satisfaction to retain your most valuable workers.
