    - Overnight supervisors round on all the units and ask what they need help with
    - Encourage BSN completion for Magnate status

I worked at Holy Name Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Teamwork amongst nurses

    Salary is fair to area

    Great cafeteria options

    Cons

    Paper charting

Physician driven culture (poor interdisciplinary teamwork)

Poor culture of safety (you’re taught to blow things off so as not bother physicians)

    Close minded environment

Favoritism by management that does not allow for job growth

Fosters culture of nurse bullying and horizontal and lateral violence

    Nasty and unhelpful nurse recruiter

    Advice to Management

Learn to get with the times. Stop caring so much about patient safety scores that your nurses lose basic nursing care because they’re focused on pleasing everyone. Focus on changing your toxic culture because this is causing your high turnover rate.

I have been working at Holy Name Medical Center (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working per-diem there is no benefits, the hours depending on how many people work in your department & in order to get a chance for an opportunity you have to have patience. You would get promoted. Just have to show how serious you are about your job & show that you want to be there.

    Cons

Being able to change your job title to Full-Time w/ benefits is not easy. Makes it more difficult. But, the experience is awesome.
