    Pros

Home Depot is a great place to provide great customer service. Being part of the front end and able to work in other departments give me an opportunity to be able to help. I love being able to do that.

    Cons

It was really hard to get a full-time job there. Working 2 jobs 65 hours a week. I just really wanted one full-time job.

    Advice to Management

I think people would stay there and be more dedicated if it was a full-time job. I just hope someday they can make the majority of their staff full time.

I worked at Home Depot Canada part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Enjoyable workplace, all of the staff were super friendly and pretty relaxed about most things. Each store generally has the same rules but some vary from place to place.

    Cons

Customers can sometimes be a little rude at times, and winter time is super slow which makes for a very boring day.

    Advice to Management

Treat everybody as equals and the staff will be happier, don't be afraid to jump in and do some work on the floor sometimes if things get bad.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of products in multiple departments, an asset to a professional life long career. After a year of employment @ THD benefit of transferring if need to relocate anywhere in North America including Canada.

    Cons

Health insurance benefits are only available for full-time employees and minimum wage start for employees regardless of knowledge product and experience.

    Advice to Management

Management should seriously put into consideration a starting employee's value when coming in with great experience, knowledge and understanding of products including past sales attributes and accomplishments.

    Pros

Home Depot has fantastic values and dynamic culture. We're a stable and well-established retailer with a lot of room for growth and advancement. It's a well-run business and senior leadership is in tune with all levels within the Store Support Centre.

    Cons

Depending on your department, I've noticed there seems to be a glass ceiling (within HR roles) between associate to manager development.

    Advice to Management

Keep developing your people! Amazing focus on customer service, keep it up.
