    Pros

Pay is decent, benefits are good.

    Cons

Everything else. You have to be accepted by the right people (by brown-nosing) or you will be canned, even if your a skilled hard-worker.

    Advice to Management

Stay where you are so you don't move on and pollute other companies.

I worked at Home Market Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Hours and hours of overtime, which you need to take home a living wage. Their products, unfit for human consumption, are available at cost.

    Cons

Atrocious safety record, high-turnover of illiterate workforce straight from Cape Verde and Haiti, poor finances and neighbors who hate them b/c the place stinks up the neighborhood. stay away.

    Advice to Management

Hire people who speak English and know how to use a bar of soap, make a product that is edible, and stop finessing every law possible. Remember, union!!!

    Pros

Interesting business. There are lots of things to learn if you are self started type of professional. Okay benefits and salary.

    Cons

The Company is not functional at all. Poor Management, LOTS of micromanagement and favoritism in your face. Promotions and personal growth go to the teachers' Pets ONLY.

    Advice to Management

The day the Owners pay more attention to their employees, process and products they will replace the majority of the Management and upper Management Team.

    Pros

Steady work. As many hours as you can handle. You can make alot of money but, you need to put in the hours.

    Cons

No Respect from managemant and no appreciation for achievements. The management is very demanding and has unrealistic expectations of it's employees..

    Advice to Management

Stop being only money motivated and care more about employee welfare and hapiness. There is more to life than being rich with money.

I have been working at Home Market Foods full-time

    Pros

Home Market Foods has such a friendly group of motivated employees. Everyone is super supportive of everyone else. Victories are shared and celebrated, and colleagues pitch in willingly when challenges arise. It's also great fun to walk into a grocery store and see our products! I love talking to friends and acquaintances and finding that they regularly buy Home Market Foods items with no idea that they are made right here in Massachusetts!

    Cons

Most companies have implemented policies to let employees balance their home and work lives, but working from home is not commonly accepted at Home Market Foods. There is little room for flexibility around telecommuting, job sharing, part-time hours, etc.

    Advice to Management

Employees are our greatest resource - develop and reward them, and HMF will continue to flourish!
