    There are no pros to this company

    Cons

    Ridiculously long hours....I often worked 60 hrs + a week with no extra money or even a thanks. But I was told I was management and it was expected. I then had to add 2 hrs a day travelling. So actually I was probably doing 70 hrs a week. Also often and I do mean often did an late shift into an early so was lucky if I got 3 hrs sleep due to the travelling. They then rebranded my job and employed new people for... 7k less than I was on so they made my life a misery until I was so ill I had a nervous breakdown. So guess what they refused to pay me. I left. Don't bother working for homebase/Bunnings it is horrific

    Don't promote managers to regional managers when they have been accused of bullying it leaves you wide open yo be sued

    Pros

    Good discount Genuine and nice colleagues Understanding customers realising company changes are not good.

    Cons

    Management team from the top to stores operate with intimidating attitudes towards team members to get unrealistic jobs done. Constantly being threatened with disciplinary action if management don't get their own way. Expectations of salaried colleagues to work ridiculous hours without being paid overtime due to "salary budget" being overstretched all the time. Stupid decisions from directors/area managers to... cancel overtime, force team members to take unpaid time off causing stress to other colleagues as they still expect the same amount of work done with less staff in store. Constantly bombarding the store with stock that doesn't sell. (this is not Australia) Constantly being contacted by management outwith working hours causing stress out of work. Being forced into whatsapp groups to be constantly messaged 24/7 Management play team members off each other and manipulate existing management to step down and make work unbearable causing un-needed stress and pressure at work and at home. Lack of communication about the important information needed to perform tasks safely.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to team members concerns and stop brushing everything under the carpet. Take advice from team members and stop using intimidation techniques to get your own way. Understand the importance of team members having a work life balance. Realise this is the British retail market and stock the right products for the British customers. There's more to life than Bunnings.
