I worked at Honda of America Mfg. as an intern

    Pros

People were incredibly friendly and helpful

    Cons

The workforce is aging and work tends to get trickled down in a seniority-based system.

When manpower is short, you may have to go work on the assembly line - regardless of your experience/education level

    Pros

Good salary, good overtime pay, plenty of opportunity to get involved, however you can just do your job and go home if you want to

    Cons

Not enough PTO first two years, not good at retaining young talent in engineering, not very progressive with women engineers

You need to spend money to make money, competitors beat the brakes off of Honda for innovation and technology, although that's not really manufacturing's problem that is a design issue
