I have been working at Honda of America Mfg. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

management welcomes overtime, health insurance, able to work multiple projects at once, no limit what you can take on.

    Cons

double or triple tier stacked management, everything is directed towards general associates(GA) and set the same across the board, no matter your position in the company. rural out in the middle of nowhere, coddle(kid gloves) when dealing with GA's, won't always get down to root cause - sugar coat with countermeasures,

    Advice to Management

pay scale is negatively skewed, either add more benefits or pay when promoted, product discount is not worth buying through employee system

    Pros

Engineering staff is a good first job. I have been lucky to get involved in new model which keeps things interesting outside of mass production.

    Cons

If you get stuck in a department with higher engineering turn over rate you can get stuck in the current position. It would be nice to see more room to grow inside of the company.

Listen to boots on the ground

I have been working at Honda of America Mfg. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As an engineer there is so much freedom to DO and learn. Management trusts you to lead your area in equipment and process decision making. In house training center gives you the basics in PLCs, Robotics, electrical etc.

    Cons

They drop you on a line with many different types of equipment and expect you to become technically knowledgeable without official training from the manufacturers of the machinery. You pretty much have to become an expert through experience over time and through equipment downtime troubleshooting.
