I have been working at HoneyBook full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

So, HoneyBook has a set of five values which are central to their business. One that really sticks out to me is the "people come first" principle. It's often used to describe how the company proactively engages with its users. But as an employee, I also see it expressed within their company culture. On top of typical SF tech perks (PTO, beautiful office, free cold brew), the thing that sets HoneyBook apart is how it supports...

The company HQ is in San Francisco but the bulk of the engineering team is in Tel Aviv. As an engineer in SF, the time difference and holiday differences can make collaborating difficult.

    Advice to Management

Keep people first and HoneyBook will stay a great company to work at.

I'm glad to hear you're using your development budget to learn about new types of technology. Working alongside intellectually curious peers is a game changer. You should do a 7x7 all hands presentation to share this with the rest of the company! Regarding the time difference with ...

I have been working at HoneyBook full-time for more than a year

    Pros

People come first. Its such a positive, tight-knit working environment. You get a lot of independence and are trusted to excel and do your best. The company truly wants to make everyone feel like part of a family (employees and customerS) and its the most supportive company culture I've been a part of.

    Cons

We're in a relatively competitive space and we have to work hard to succeed. Like many startups, process can be an issue sometimes as the company grows.

Thanks for the review, I really appreciate it. It would be great to hear more about your perspective on the process deficiencies -- but it seems that it's a healthy amount given our startupness?

I have been working at HoneyBook full-time for more than a year

    Pros

From the first day on the job I felt totally welcome as part of the HoneyBook family. People have a sweet balance of working hard, having fun, and encouraging those around them to maximize their potential. There's also tons of collaboration between departments, which breeds strong communication and transparency. People really do come first - in regard to both HB members and HB employees.

    Cons

Being two weeks in I feel as though I'm still in the "HoneyMoon" stage (pun intended). It's tough to find a con, I'm just stoked to help play a part in the company's growth.

    Advice to Management

Keep building the culture and attracting great people! As we grow, build on the culture and keep the focus on people as the center of the product, the business, and the work environment.

I have been working at HoneyBook

    Pros

The culture is amazing and bar none the best start up culture I have ever been a part of. People are genuinely and ridiculously passionate about the company, their job, the product, members and the value we continually provide our members. Transparency, collaboration, recognition and feedback are paramount. Everyone has a voice and is encouraged to use it to make an impact. If you're looking to make an impact, in an office...

I have been working at HoneyBook full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    * the best thing about working here is that the DNA of the company is to...always be better than the day before...we're constantly trying to improve things like how to be a better leader, or how to reach profitability faster, or what can be taught to employees in the morning 7 minute all-hands. This sense of "be grateful but mildly unhappy with everything" permeates our culture and is what is responsible for the success...

There are none. Really. I mean it. In the great scheme of things, there's nothing to complain about. We live in an amazing city, work with amazing, fun, smart, bright people, have amazing customers that love our product that we'll do anything for, and have an amazing mission. Work isn't always daisies and sunshine or else it wouldn't be work. But it's hard to envision a better place or group of people to stand shoulder...

One of the company's core values is that people come first and it really is embodied in everything we do. Everyone has a chance to grow and contribute in their own unique ways with the full support of management.

      Cons

It is still a startup and you're expected to work very hard, so if you're looking for a cushy place this isn't for you. That being said, you know you're surrounded by people dedicated to succeed and there's never any worry about whether people are pulling their weight or not.

      Advice to Management

Other than maybe getting a ping pong table, i'd say keep up the good work!

Being fortunate enough to spend those hours with people who act and feel like family and motivate you to unleash your superpower is not only rewarding, it is empowering. I have been working at HoneyBook

        Pros

HoneyBook is on a fast moving train to success and you can always feel the momentum. Geuninely, people come first at HoneyBook. Be it employees, members, or anyone that walks through the front door. It's the culture and what really sets us apart.

        Cons

It is a start up. Things move fast (extremely fast), directions change, people wear multiple hats and hours our long. We are all working hard to build our own company and that's what is encouraged. We all have ownership and pull or individual weight to be successful. We know that now is the time to make it work. So if you aren't willing to sacrifice a little work life balance for something you are creating this isn't...
