I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    * We make some really great products.
    * Stock price is doing great
    * Repositioning products to serve IoT. Lots of software and machine interaction.
    * First year of unlimited vacation

    Cons

    * Treats employees terrible
    * Very small or no raises at all the last six years
    * Healthcare costs close to $300 every two weeks with a $3000 deductible
    * 401k match is below average.
    * Most are afraid to take any vacation.
    * Three weeks off with out pay in the last 18 months.
    * Company stopped paying any $ towards Dental.
    * No bonuses ever, for most employees.
    * Employee product discount is not very good
    * Manufacturing and supply chain is very disorganized. Both our customers and suppliers think we are disfunctional.
    * 3 Reduction in Force (layoffs) in 2016. Seemed to go after older employees.
    * Worlds worst performance review system. Bosses are forced by HR to rank people bad. And no one can get the top score.

    Advice to Management

Stop paying the CEO $36 million a year and then tell us you cant pay for dental or give us a raise or keep us employed 52 weeks per year.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

New & rewarding work on tech development projects that produce systems & software products that enhance automation, usability and safety of avionics systems deployed for commercial & business aircraft.

    Cons

Support of metrics collection on progress towards milestones and repetitive quoting of project costs steals engineering time that should be applied to quality systems development, integration & testing as well as work on patents.

    Advice to Management

Benefits are not attractive for current employees or potential new hires or for retention compared to other companies in the sector. Too many people employed who are not the immediate supervisors whose main job is collecting status & metrics to feed Executive management (non-value added work). Innovation is stifled as long as people have to spend time on continuos/daily status rather than focusing on execution, quality and innovation (new designs, patent applications, etc)

I worked at Honeywell full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people who work there are really great. Especially those on the floor. They are passionate about their work and truly want to do great work when given the right resources.

    Cons

    - The leadership is only worried about two or three metrics that corporate has identified and will adjust everything to meet those metrics (this is not how to correctly run the business)
    - Too worried about just getting deliveries out the door and not about putting out quality product. Would rather ship something out knowing it will come back
    - Too slow and have to jump through too many hoops to get something done
    - Culture is adverse to change
    - Too reactive and not strategic

    Advice to Management

Need to change culture of work force starting at the top

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is decent. My direct management has been great.
Lot's of new initiatives with great potential to significantly improve our products and bottom line.

    Cons

Executive management cares only about stock price. Several years of furloughs and layoffs along with a systematic cutting of employee benefits has led to extremely poor morale and general apathy. Now people are leaving on their own and executive management has put a hiring freeze in place. Staffing levels are way too low across the board to be effective.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, kind of unlimited vacation policy

    Cons

Over processed, scientific management approach. Attitudeus everything and every person is interchangeable and expendable

    Advice to Management

Scientific management didn't work in the start of the last century, why would it work now? Just because you have a tool in SAP is no excuse to blame the rules of SAP for not allowing on time delivery and causing poor quality. If SAP isn't working out, change the way the program is set up. Use tge SAP metrics to enhance our operation not govern it. Listen to the people doing the job they know best how to get it done on time.
