I worked at Honeywell full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    World-class training. Flexible work schedule.

    Cons

Upper management changes every 2 to 3 years causing a lack of focus and consistency in the workplace.
Company runs too lean to be effective.
Working in the Fortune 100 can be challenging.

    Advice to Management

Stop changing management and organizational structures. Remove the excess layers of top-heavy management. Hire enough employees to carry the workload. Hire the best employee for the job - not the cheapest because they are from an emerging-region.

    Advice to Management

    Delegate

I have been working at Honeywell full-time

    Pros

401k match, "unlimited" vacation, salary, good 6S/Lean understanding and learning opportunity,

    Cons

Poor work/life balance, recently changed several positions for non-exempt to exempt with a poor salary bump to compensate. Very slow to hire and fill holes, jobs will stay empty for several months placing additional workload on other employees

    Advice to Management

Admit that compensation packages are on the lower end of "competitive", focus on filling holes quickly and efficiently to control employee worklaod.

I worked at Honeywell full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Programs are fun to work on. There is a wealth of knowledge from employees who have been there many years. Mots of mentor ship opportunities if you seek out and build relationships with the right experts. Most of the employees are fun to work with. There is tons to learn if you pay attention and strive to build knowledge.

    Cons

Benefits are horrible. Cost cutting in all the wrong places. Departments merging that have nothing to do with one another. Employees are some what beat down with RIFS and Furloughs hanging over your head all the time. Quality and customer service would suffer if the employees didn't actually care and didn't work twice as hard like they do. Its very hard to move up unless you job hop, which creates a bunch of people who are mediocre at their jobs and gaps when they move to another department.

    Advice to Management

Please remember that employees are shareholders as well. Our furloughs a huge salary are ludicrous, who needs that much money, and who is actually worth it? How about you donate those bonuses so that employees can keep their jobs and not have to take unpaid time off. We depend on our incomes to pay for actual necessities, not things like islands to retire on. All of your employees feel this way.

I worked at Honeywell full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great Technology
    Smart People
    Fair Compensation
Highly diversified so many paths to grow (if not prevented from withing the business)

    Cons

Morale difficult to maintain due to consistent yoy head count reductions and overworked employees.
    resources decline while expectations increase.
There are some very good leaders but the adversarial culture just pulls them into the Honeywell way.

    Advice to Management

Need to make more investments in the people if that is truly a differentiation as claimed in the culture statement... New CEO will look to cut cost at a higher rate - guaranteed!

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good wages, clean environment

    Cons

Greedy Ceo and upper management. Although wages are not bad the company takes and takes from the middle class people who make the money for them. They want to keep them down instead of rewarding them for all their hard work. Young people / new hires don't get pensions, long term emploees get their pensions froze, while the CEO make over 50 million with the stock options and bonuses. It's wrong.

    Advice to Management

Get back to being the company that cares about their employees. Quit being so greedy and give the new hires the pensions they deserve. Stop keeping all the money for your selves.

I worked at Honeywell full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good people that try really hard to do the right thing

    Cons

No good prospects unless you live in India

    Advice to Management

Cutting IT funding every year, year over year, is not sustainable. Too many people are "making it work" and are burning out in the process. I have watched a lot of good talent leave the company.
Also, reposting a person's position in another state / country then expecting that person to train their replacement before they are RIFed is beneath human.

I have been working at Honeywell as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Gain relevant experience under professionals while getting paid a decent amount as well. You can apply stuff you learn here in your classes as well.

    Cons

If you're working for company that was recently purchased by Honeywell, their integration system is slow and painful. IT issues, management issues, and sometime even funding issues.
