I worked at Honeywell as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

They pay pretty well. Overall steady work.

    Cons

Bureaucracy makes it impossible to feel like you are accomplishing anything. Terrible silo effect between departments, in some cases even animosity.

    Advice to Management

Develop a sense of purpose, a general mission that everyone can buy into. I hope the new plant manager is more oriented toward manufacturing. Champion worthwhile activities. Break down barriers. Get rid of hostile managers who cannot cooperate in a team.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are still chances to move up the "corporate ladder", although becoming fewer and far between

    Cons

Too focused on non-value added procedures. Six sigma, AP1152, HOS, etc... Majority of "engineering" time spent filling out useless forms and checks in boxes before you can move a program forwards.

    Advice to Management

Local management has little to no power to make any significant changes.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time

    Pros

Pay, Laid Back, and Union Representation.

    Cons

Strong Disconnect Between the Union and Front Office.
Tends to Create Problems to "Fix"
They will step over a dollar to pick up a penny.
    Shop Politics

    Advice to Management

Work with the union employees, instead of against them. Listen to the subject matter experts, the ones who do the work everyday. Bridge the gap that was created by the lock-out.

    Pros

Great management. Everyone has lots of knowledge on the Honeywell products. There is always an opportunity for growth within the company. Learn a lot of skills while working here.

    Cons

A lot of the factory workers complain about their job. The health insurance is a big issue within the company.

    Advice to Management

The management at the site I worked for was great. They were able to understand and recognize when there was a need on the site.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Honeywell as a contractor (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Steady work. Seven days a work as needed or forced and if you can put up with ignorant , lost, no direction management. UAW #9 has to show the management how to make things run smooth as they did Bendix back in the 1930's. Honeywell strategy brought in bus loads of out of state scabs to put the Union out the door. The Union was happy to work for the present now expired contract, but Honeywell wanted it ALL or nothing. They tried to force a $8,000.00 Medical Insurance deductible down our throats as well as taking away seniority rights. We went the first thirteen weeks out the door with NO unemployment benefits, due to there dirty corrupt deals and had to hire a lawyer to get it.

    Cons

Illegal locked out 317 UAW #9 members in South Bend, 45 in New York due to greedy Management CEO Dave Cote and his blood thirsty UNION HATTING BUDDIES Obama , Clintons and all their money stuffing in their pocket crooked politicians. These people are the ones destroying AMERICA. When your done screwing the good Union folks that have sacrificed time from there families to make millions for you, you can go back to pork- in your own people like you did the Christmas of 2016 with there no pay furlough. Nice job. Merry Christmas!

    Advice to Management

**** or get off the POT. STOP Chocking the American worker. Turn over of supervision is unheard of. I have had at least 13 supervisors in my short 9 yrs in my department alone. Supervision on the floor has to be shown what needs to be done.
