I have been working at Honeywell full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Unlimited Vacation and nothing else but selling you on a career path that does not exist.

    Cons

People are leaving and they are not replacing their positions. Two divisions had furloughs. Under fair market value for most positions. Extremely cheap and the HR Department has new managers that are useless. It is a sweat shop!!!

    Advice to Management

Pay employees fair market value. Majority of the company is under paid across the board.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time for more than a year

    Pros

As a company Honeywell pay is inline with peers

    Cons

Poor benefits at a very high cost, high pressure work environment, unrealistic work environment, furloughs seem to be the norm in Q3 and Q4, Senior leadership blames staff for missing goals without providing adequate infrastructure, systems and processes to achieve targets

    I worked at Honeywell full-time

    Pros

    - Work with smart people - Brand name on your resume - Compensation at market rate when you start

    Cons

    - Systemic lack of accountability, ownership, and career growth across the different businesses unless you are at VP, GM, or above - Furloughs, pay cuts, re-orgs, and title changes are infamously part of Honeywell's "MOS" year after year - Approx 30% voluntary attrition within 2 years and 15-20% within 1 year across multiple functions (especially product management, sales, marketing, customer experience......engineers and production tend to be RIF/RIM instead of leaving voluntarily) - Outside of a high-level onboarding at HQ, you and your team will likely not receive training, education, or tools as your budget keeps getting cut - Annual raises above 3% for even the most stellar employee, totally unheard of. Average raise without a job promotion is 1-2%. The 8 core behaviors are subjective performance metrics and the vehicle that Honeywell uses to downgrade your annual bonus because each department does not get a decent budget for bonus or merit. - Run down offices. Free coffee not provided. - Many more, which layoff.com does a good job recording while also providing endless entertainment

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging each of the business units and departments. Leaders must empowered to lead and have authority to make decisions for results in which they're accountable.

Manager is great. New initiatives for finance career growth within company. If you're willing to put in the effort, you can get a breadth of experience in multiple industries.

    Cons

Culture is intense, but performance driven. Furloughs.

I have been working at Honeywell full-time

    Pros

The technology and product portfolio are very interesting and forward looking.

    Cons

For as large and profitable a company as it is, they spare expenses for people. It is a very cost conscious penny pinching company that will 'trim the fat' at every opportunity. There are typically travel bans every year and furloughs even though the company is making profits. Company events are basically coworkers scrounging up what they can to put on a office party or get together on their own dime. I have... never known of any large scale company events. Medical benefits are a high deductible fiasco that causes employees to forgo medical treatment because they can't afford to go.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent. You will earn people's trust and loyalty. You may be surprised that you will also find a lot of support if you let people understand things rather than keep them in the dark.

    Pros

good group of people in my department

    Cons

multiple layoffs, multiple furloughs. Some years no pay increase. Some of the worst benefits in a corporate organization. Customer's can't stand us.

    Advice to Management

none as they don't see to listen or care.

I worked at Honeywell full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great way to build a lot of experience in a short period of time

    Cons

High turnover due to workload, lack luster merit increases, furloughs to prop up profitability, short-term decision making that results in significant customer and employee churn. Rotating leadership will whip a business for 18-24 months to maximize their bonus, then cut and run before dealing with consequences of treating customers/employees poorly.

    Advice to Management

Adopt a long-term orientation to running the business. Your constantly rotating door leaders of business groups leads to instability in the organization, and decision-making that is great for 1-2 years of bonuses, but then leads to furloughs and layoffs when it catches up with the business.

I worked at Honeywell full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Worldwide positions. Interact with all major airframers.

    Cons

Honeywell continues to squeeze employees, pay freezes, downgrading working conditions, forced unpaid furloughs, mandatory 55 hour work weeks, "unlimited" vacation time but good luck getting the manager to sign off.
