I worked at Hooters part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Made friendships that will last me a lifetime.

    Cons

Only made money off of the tables you were sat with (if people sat in your section)
Either leaving with money or with no money at all.

    Advice to Management

People should get paid for working, whether they have had tables or not. Some days I felt like I was working for free, especially the days when I left with not even $10 for a 6 hour shift.

    Cons

Long shifts Late hours paying for uniforms every other shift. No breaks, poor scheduling, managers are young, serving with hair down

    Advice to Management

    Schedule better

I worked at Hooters part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Made decent money and became close with the girls. Allowed you to pick your own schedule for the most part.

    Cons

The management was really bad at times- did not care about the well-being of the girls. The one good manager we had was fired.

    Pros

I've been with Hooters for almost seven years while getting my Bachelors and Masters degrees and it has been a great experience. I make great money, even in a lower volume store, and the company has given me numerous opportunities. They provide tuition reimbursement and I have moved up to an hourly management position. I love the flexible schedule and fun, fast pace environment.

    Cons

Some shifts are a little inconsistent, similar to any restaurant, but I have been able to take on hourly management shifts.

I have been working at Hooters part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Wonderful managers and girls I work with are great. Positive atmosphere and overall fun job. Flexible schedules and training process is excellent.

    Cons

Taking time before work to be prepared everyday (Hair, makeup etc.). Traffic can get very long getting to my location but I knew that accepting this job. Making sure you leave early enough to get there and get ready for your shift is key.

    Advice to Management

No advice to management. I've had a few jobs before this and these are by far the best and most helpful managers I've had. Very positive

    I worked at Hooters full-time

    Pros

They are flexible with scheduling. They recognize the girls that sell the most merchandise. If you sell a lot or know the manager, you will like working there.

    Cons

They only give discounts on "healthy" foods which means no fat. They critique girls and their physical appearance negatively all the time. They tell you to put more makeup on or change the color of lipstick.

    Advice to Management

Managers need to learn to be sensitive. They make comments on the girls physical appearance to put them down. One manager would try flirting with the girls and making sexual innuendos.

    Pros

Great money, great friends, great customers.

    Cons

Management is revolving, lots of drama, lots of bad tippers to go a long with the good ones.

    Advice to Management

    Make "leaders" follow the rules.

I worked at Hooters full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You can make great money and gain interpersonal skills. The girls, the cooks--they're mostly awesome.

    Cons

The quality of your day can largely depends on the manager. Some are fantastic while others are miserable.

    Advice to Management

A discontent manager directly affects the ability to uphold the morale expected of Hooters Girls. We all suffer. Including sales.
