I worked at Hope Healthcare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Can work hard and care for patients.

    Cons

Abusive work environment. Cover up sexual harassment of women and protect abusers. Management disrespect staff and micromanage. Bullying, nasty, back stabbing, gossiping work environment. Nurses blamed and scapegoated for all complaints. Run unless you enjoy being abused.

    Advice to Management

Your nurses have College degrees and deserve to be respected as professionals instead of being treated like morons. They have licenses to work as professional nurses not licenses to be abused. If there was another hospice in town you would not have any staff.

I worked at Hope Healthcare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Long term stability, nice people to work with. Changing Healthcare can make it frustrating at time. Little supervision, or quality supervision.

    Cons

Not a lot of money or professional growth. The days are overall about the same. After a while, it can become repetitive.

    Advice to Management

Allow opportunity for advancement, personally and throughout the company

I worked at Hope Healthcare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Taking care of the people that are true hospice patients yand the gratitude of the families when you know you have positively impacted someone at the most difficult time of their life

    Cons

Management thrives on creating toxic work environment within the facilities. “Unwritten rule” employees are not to become friends. Assignments rotated constantly to avoid consistency. Extremely political. Dedicated, long term employees fired with no valid reasons given. Selective enforcement of rules (some people have to follow, some don’t). Several staff over the years have been fired after being diagnosed with serious illness. Great benefits, but if you get cancer, odds are you get fired, so benefits don’t really help in that case. Administration very cold and unapproachable. All about the bottom line.
