    Advice to Management

I worked at Horizon Bay full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a fun place to work because of the residents and the right staff. Good company to work for, you can move up.

    Cons

When there is too many chiefs and not enough indians, it is chaos, some of the people need to learn people skills, but other than that it's ok.

    Advice to Management

Make sure the work environment is enjoyable to work in, everyone working together and getting along with one another. That means respect each other and don't be breathing down their backs, that way they will feel good about coming to work everyday.

I have been working at Horizon Bay full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are literally no pros to working for this chef.

    Cons

The chef is always on vacation. When he is there he is constantly locked in his office. He refuses to deal with issues such as tardiness or cleanliness with the staff. The kitchen is filthy and bug infested. Worst environment I have ever worked for.

    Advice to Management

    Hire a real chef.

I have been working at Horizon Bay full-time

    Pros

I enjoy influencing people's lives in the most positive way. This position gives me the opportunity to just that. I also enjoy working with my colleagues, it truly feels like we are one family with one common goal, to do what ever it takes to make sure that our residents have the best possible interaction, food, and environment and most importantly, making sure that they are always safe and secure.

    Cons

there is very little to no training in place for new employees.

    Advice to Management

orientation needs to be more extensive. it's always best to set precise expectations prior to start date. the more information and detailed expectations given, the less issues will arise. setting clear expectations will give the employee a clear sense of direction and lessen conflict. eventhough Companions by state law are not required to have any credentials. New hires should be trained on a regular basis.

I was not able to write below but would like to answer the questions

Career Opportunities-I believe Brookdale has a great deal of opportunities, that is why I'm here.

compensation and benefits-compensation, I can't speak too much about because my title and responsibilities are vague as of now. I basically took over the program not too worried about titles more interested in success.
Benefits- Medical benefits are horrible. other benefits seem in line with other corporation.

    Work/Life Balance- very good balance

    Senior Management ??

Culture and Values-very much aligned with my own. We at Horizon Bay do try to live up to the written standards of Brookdale Living. However, when dealing with so many employees and turnover of employees, it will always be a work in progress.

I don't know the CEO but I rated based on company growth and reputation.
