I worked at Horizon Behavioral Health full-time

    Pros

Work week is 37.5 hours for now. As has been the pattern with all pros, I am sure this will be changed in the future.

    Cons

Too much overtime required with no overtime pay Unaffordable family insurance coverage Incessant turnover Fewer staff juggling increasing workload Constant moving of staff from one location to another Uncertain, unstable environment day to day Constant restructuring Pay manipulation Staff treated with little respect and no appreciation Clients are money to management with no concern for their well... being Toxic environment Staff are expected to take abuse and shut up Turnover is crazy from top to bottom. I had five different supervisors and lost majority of my co-workers to turnover. No career opportunities Low pay Terribly toxic and negative

    Advice to Management

Management doesn't care about staff or clients. Concerns fall on deaf ears. You will not be appreciated or respected. There is too much chaos to stay.

I have been working at Horizon Behavioral Health full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Flexible schedule, great leave time, very good direct clinical staff.

    Cons

CEO is too involved in daily activities. Very poor health insurance benefits. Poor company financial outlook and no potential for yearly pay increases. Low pay.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to make the family insurance rate more affordable. Stop paying people so much at the upper management level. Restructure the supervisor hierarchy so that there are fewer managers that don't bring in revenue.

I have been working at Horizon Behavioral Health full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Liberal vacation accrual, VRS Retirement plan, hard working co-workers.

    Cons

Top down mgmt, smoke and mirrors communication, ignorant or ill informed board members, knee-jerk decision making from highest level without real information re. feasibility or sustainability. Low pay and below-COL raises. Wasted/lost work time for "All Staff Retreats" that are far from a true retreat--just a CEO Show.

    Advice to Management

Mgmt lives in same fear as subordinates (they need jobs too!). Stop filling mgmt. positions with higher paid replacements, while the real workers are going without raises or not being paid their worth. Dedicated, LTE are now leaving like rats from a sinking ship. Pretty discouraging when low-levels are told there isn't enough money for raises, but CEO gets/takes one.
