I worked at Horizon Lines full-time

    Pros

Great benefits that you'd expect all bigger shipping companies should have. I like my independence at work so this position worked out perfectly.

    Cons

Workflow and procedures are usually monotonous, tedious and not effective. No one likes taking responsibility for their actions here either.

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

Steady Work but low pay. The workplace attitude can be great with the right upper management in place. The trade routes were mostly great along the pacific.

    Cons

Steamships are rapidly aging. Personnel changes in the upper management aboard the ships happen very rapidly. Cost cutting measures can challenge the engineers abilities to perform proper fixes.

    Advice to Management

This category is pretty unnecessary with the sale of pacific horizon to both Pasha and Matson. I would suggest that Horizon upper management to try and keep the most effective leaders within the company upper shipboard officers.
