    Pros

Good benefits. Yearly bonuses for all employees. Thanksgiving bonus and Christmas bonus. Amazing food available in the main cafeteria. Monthly rewards for departments who are accident free.

I have been working at Hormel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Training, if you are entry level. Good sales internship programs. Competitive salary and benefits, On-Trend products that are meeting consumer needs. Good upper level management team and CEO.

    Cons

Executive VP's and above are working hard to change the "good ole' boy" , C1 culture but it is still going on in certain areas of the country. Some sales offices probably could be shut down to save money. More strategic sales planning is needed, well in advance of customer lead time deal requirements. New Item rollouts are disorganized and sales is not given much advance notice of new item introductions. Lots of finger pointing when things go bad, in the field and at HQ. Brand Managers need to take more ownership of mistakes made in forecasting and new item launch failures.

    Advice to Management

Keep working on the culture! It is headed in the right direction. Take the next step and if needed, don't keeping managers in their roles if they refuse to adapt to the culture and live it everyday. Just because they have been with the company a long time does not mean that they need to stay in their current role. Get out and work in the field, find out what is really going on and how changes could be made to keep employees happy and balanced.

I have been working at Hormel full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company with a long and strong financial history, plenty of projects going on so there are different areas of the business to get involved with, good bonus potential, joint profit sharing, pension plan

    Cons

IT department is very outdated in regards to what technology is available, hard to get lateral movement within department as positions don't tend to open frequently, poor vacation allotment, Austin is a retirement community of about 25,000 with Minneapolis about two hours north and Rochester 40 minutes northeast. If you are a millennial this will be a tough sell.
