I have been working at Hornbacher's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Higher than minimum wage, good coworkers, easy job

    Cons

Supervisors over correct employees if they are having a bad day. Training is a joke with the rate of new hires and management have a very difficult time communicating.

    Advice to Management

Only intervene when necessary. Don't write up employees just because you feel like it, and don't misconstrue what employees say so you can write them up.

    Cons

Dept. not kept clean, people dont know their job very well, just not a very good place to work. Pay not very good or getting raises. If you can work else ware I would think about it.

    Advice to Management

Think about not hiring sub standard asst. store Mgr and dept mgrs for stores . So that they might know more about how to keep good employees then run them off.

    Pros

Very flexible and you might meet some new friends. Lot of opportunities to be promoted or do something else in the company.

    Pros

Friendly and helpful work environment, ideal for high school and/or college students.

    Cons

After remodeling the store seems less like a local neighborhood supermarket and more cookie cutter corporate grocery store. Quality and training of new hires is dropping quickly.

    Advice to Management

improve training and selection of new hires. Scheduling of front end employees could be better.

    Pros

Hornbachers is not the cheapest place to buy groceries and hey know it. The people is what keeps customer coming in. That is why I wanted to work there, and that is why I still shop there.

    Cons

It is a grocery store, there wasn't too much room for new ideas, or concepts, I found my particular position to be quite dull.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what your doing.
