I worked at Horseshoe Casino Hammond part-time

    Pros

This position created a great deal of flexibility. It was excellent for students or full-time employees that just needed something to do on the weekend. This position was an opening to get into the casino without needing any background experience.

    Cons

The biggest con about working in that position is it did not give you any access to dealing with others in the casino. That being said, the opportunity for advancement within that position was very limited. Because you didn't branch out and see any other areas of the casino, other managers were less interested in hiring you if you wanted something more stable.

    Advice to Management

Allow people in this on-call positions to work in other areas of the casino. Allow them to take on other on-call or part-time positions so they may have the ability to get more hours.

    Pros

Again good pay, great benefits, happy and fun establishment to work for.

    Cons

The only cons is that you may run into some angry customers who might have lost some money from gambling. But just be understanding and take it with ease.

    Pros

None at all. Well maybe fellow employees were nice and you get to know them out on the floor when the desk is quiet

    Cons

During the training they say they never layoff anyone they will find you another department they don't believe in it blah blah blah but after hiring a ton of people they do a massive layoff after 3 months. Thanks

    Pros

As a table games dealer, you get a lot of breaks and can sign up for on a list to leave early if you so choose. You're paid to interact with people and deal cards, quite easy. The direct managers you deal with are all very good people that will try to do what they can to look out for you.

    Cons

Many cons for working here. Attendance is based on a point system that caps out, no paid vacations, can't take actual vacation without going over a point cap. The customers can be downright miserable to be around since they're mostly gambling addicts throwing away their money and being angry about it. Upper level management are 'corporate' and don't mix with the peasants. The healthcare offered is laughable.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your employees and they'll take better care of your busines.

Management does not have employee's interest in mind when making decisions. Complacency and lack of accountability are the most common traits found amongst staff.

I worked at Horseshoe Casino Hammond full-time

    Pros

Great co-workers, the only pro to Horseshoe was my fellow coworkers who endured everything else.

    Cons

Management does not care about you, most managers only knew my name because I had a name tag on, the company only knew me as a number and some pointless reviews. Not to mention forcing supervisors to give bad reviews!

    Advice to Management

Stop it with all the peer reviews they wont work, they never do, they never will.
