I have been working at Hospital Corporation of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful people to work with. Great schedule. Clean, professional, modern facility. Very good patient reviews. Caring and competent supervisors. Nice garden.

    Cons

Low pay for experienced RN’s. So-so cafeteria. Having to work with mountainstar’s transfer center is a nightmare. Feels like instead of working with us, they are working against us.

    Advice to Management

    Raise pay for RN’s

    Pros

Great people to work with. Good director.

    Cons

No real education for nurses. Almost all nurses are new nurses. They are educated poorly and have nothing to compare it to.

    Advice to Management

EDUCATE YOUR NURSES! It will pay off.

    Pros

Company really cares about their patients and providing high quality health care. Benefits and pay are decent. Employee appreciation activities are held a few times per year and it’s nice to feel appreciated.

    Cons

Too often leaders are chosen because they are good at, or certified in their field, which when working in medicine does not always equate to a good leader (especially if their field of interest is not at all patient facing or required any social skills - like in a lab for example).

    Advice to Management

Hire managers who are leaders, not just good clinicians.
