I have been working at Hotel Arista full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Beautiful area, easy to get to, lower level employees are great. easy to get in and out don't know what else to say

    Cons

least amount of benefits anywhere, hourly or salary. no bonus' , not even 401k. It seems they are creating jobs for friends and management, but are not hiring workers. If you are not "in" with the new management, then you are out. No cross-training, or any kind of training. No communication throughout the hotel to any departments.

    Advice to Management

Actually listen to the employees and find out what needs to change. Instead of trying to get rid of renters, try finding out a way to make them owners.

    Pros

Independently owned, much easier to work with than corporate hotels. It has a distinct personality and a feeling of family. Lots of opportunities for cross training and growth when working with upper management and ownership.

    Cons

Has gone through a lot of changes and though they are tough they are very necessary. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and it is not a train.

    Advice to Management

Keep the momentum up, it has a new energy and it is really inspiring.

I have been working at Hotel Arista full-time

    Pros

Very welcoming team that is willing to pitch in when needed. Friendly employees who make you feel like you're part of the family. Great leaders with open door policy. Questions quickly answered. Good employee benefits.

    Cons

There has been much turnover, but the word is spreading that good things are happening. It is a transitional time and sometimes change can be alarming. The energy, however, is positive.

    Advice to Management

Though many are new, the direction the hotel is headed is fantastic. Keep up your involvement with the employees.

I have been working at Hotel Arista full-time

    Pros

Ever since hiring some new upper management, things have started improving. For example:
    - Great opportunities for growth within the company.
    - I feel as though management finally cares about lower level employees. For example, they are making an effort to remember names and ask questions about how our day is going and things like that.
    - Good benefits
    - Relaxed Work Environment
    - They hire management with great field experience

    Cons

Turnover is significantly high. However, I feel that due to this new management coming in retention will increase.
