    Pros

Great training and wonderful people. Uncapped commission.

    Cons

Sometimes departments worked in silos. Very long hours but that is to be expected in sports/ professional basbeall

    Advice to Management

Keep developing and promoting folks internally!

I worked at Houston Astros (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get to be around the Astros, watch every home game and be a part of something awesome and bigger than yourself.

    Cons

With seasonal retail, you most likely need something to support you financially, unless you already have a day job and are doing this to be around the club.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. With the Astros winning more, profitability is sure to follow if you leverage the right data and trends.

I worked at Houston Astros part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people, management is understanding, fun to watch games if you like baseball, can make your own schedule and work extra events if you want like concerts, and they provide meals for lunch if you don't have your own or want to pay $10 for a chicken tender basket.

    Cons

Long hours on your feet. Gets very tiring in the heat when the roof isn't up.

    Advice to Management

Not much they can change since they let guests in 2 hours prior to the game. Very cool interns.

I worked at Houston Astros as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity to learn and add value to dynamic projects on a wide array of business initiatives. I worked on projects dealing with marketing, promotions, retail sales, and long term investment projects.

    Cons

The pay as an intern is not good - this is standard across the industry. I made minimum wage on an hourly basis.

    Advice to Management

I advise management to continue allowing interns to add value through independent projects. In addition, interns should be encouraged to volunteer time in other departments to maximize their experience.

I have been working at Houston Astros part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

My co-workers make my job easier; they're all friendly, love what they do, and help represnt the Astros organization in a great way. You get to choose which games you want to work. The company provides food during our break and that time is included in our salary. We get a couple of freebies every now and then (tickets, jerseys). The overall all work experience is great.

    Cons

Well of course not kuch promotion (maybe eventually become a supervisor). There is some miscommunication between the different departments. There are times when staff is shorthanded.

    Advice to Management

Just one thing, have a meeting with all the heads of each department so that we can be on the same page.

    Pros

Travel the country with a great group of guys. Play a game and get payed for it.
Receive great advice from former big league players and coaches.

    Cons

Money is not great and you are away from home for 6-8 months out of the year.

    Advice to Management

Pay a little more to minor leaguers and provide dental insurance.

    Being around baseball.
    Cool atmosphere.
    Nice people to work with.
Owner is friendly and is polite to all staff no matter what level.

    Cons

    Pay is adequate.
Not a lot of advancement options.
At some point working in sports for little pay gets old.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people decent money, it's obvious the money isn't on the field.
