I have been working at Houston Community College part-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

They work with your schedule. It's a plus if you're a student.

      Cons

You only work 19.5 hours weekly and you don't have a chance to move up position. People can be rude and unprofessional. They require you to work too much for the amount of money you get. Not worth it.

      Approves of CEO

I have been working at Houston Community College part-time for more than 2 years

      Pros

Flexible hours, slow work environment, usually quiet.

      Cons

Managers play favorites. Doesn’t matter how smart you are or if you’re more qualified. Managers are also degrading and resistant to change, would rather print 300+ pages than use ctrlF. The only way to advance or get a raise after years of work is if you’re related to someone. Part timers do not get paid holidays but are required to take 2 weeks off for winter break. Other holidays are also unpaid such as Thanksgiving...

      Advice to Management

Value your employees more. Hire people for their qualifications not because they’re related to someone in the company already. Do not be degrading when people ask questions or for help.

I have been working at Houston Community College full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Working with the students is great! Being able to help and provide them with a means of going to school and getting an education!! Campus stays busy so it makes the day go by faster! Team building environment!!

      Cons

My commute is a bit far so an 8 hour day is easily a 10 or 11 hour day!!
