I have been working at Howard Area Community Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Diverse staff and clients. There are a lot of staff appreciation events.

    Cons

No accountability from supervisors which is ironic because that is one of the agencies values.

    Advice to Management

Have a back up plan for when people leave so the current employees don't burn out. Give clear job descriptions and more trainings related to the FSW position.

I worked at Howard Area Community Center (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great preschool program with dedicated and well-trained staff. In better weather children play outside (in the private play lot) or take a walk to the lake! (they also have an indoor gross motor room)
They have adopted some montessori approaches. Look up: Reggio Emelia

    Cons

Could help interns get to know more about the other community services and programs they offer besides headstart/preschool.

    Pros

Great staff at the daycare. Daycare director is amazing and very caring, trickles down to the rest of the staff.

    Cons

No cons outside of the need for more funding, which is out of their control.
