I have been working at Howard Sloan Search full-time

    Pros

The ability to be creative and the amount of autonomy. This is something that is unique in recruiting, especially for those who are newer
The people are great! From reception to the CEO, everyone is kind and driven
Very low turnover. People have been here for a long time, and for good reason! Just ask if you get the interview
Feel free to reach me on Linkedin if you have any questions about the company and I'll do my best to answer them. Greg Sokol on Linkedin

    Cons

Depending on your personality, the office can be quiet. For me, this is actually a pro. I like to be able to hear my own thoughts and hate background noise because I can't focus. For another type of recruiter though, this is can be a con.
Other companies that say "high-paced environment" really mean to say it is loud and it is tough to focus. This is not a high-paced environment, unless you make it that way!

    Advice to Management

    Keep hiring excellent people!

    Cons

None that are at all significant.

    Advice to Management

    Maintain the work environment.

    Pros

Professional environment where adults behave like adults. A relaxed but focused office vibe. Collaboration through the different units is encouraged and supported by senior staff members. Solid client list.

    Cons

None that I could see thus far. Let's hope it stays that way.

    Advice to Management

If I could provide any advice at this stage it would be to encourage them to maintain the direction of what they have created at Howard Sloan, as it appears to be working.

    Pros

Best place I've ever worked. A great environment to make money, have fun and learn. The culture, from the top down is all about positive motivation and respect for employees. Fantastic CEO and team leaders who do everything possible to invest in the success of every recruiter. No red tape, no bureaucracy. The average tenure is over ten years.

    Cons

Hard to say. I've never felt more at home.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in experienced hires as well as people new to the business.

I have been working at Howard Sloan Search full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Tossed into the fire. Good learning experience for all experience levels

    Cons

Senior leadership are only concerned with lining their pockets. You're asked to take an extremely low draw salary. This is so the management staff isn't out a dime on you. You pay this back with post taxed 'bonus' dollars on your commission. Which is never paid on time.

Culture is extremely stiff. You're treated as a kid as well.

    Advice to Management

Quit caring about the dollar bills. Start caring about your employees.

I worked at Howard Sloan Search full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company can be a launching ground to get into recruiting

    Cons

I have never been part of a company that was so tight with a dollar. Commission are paid sometimes up to 30 days AFTER the company has been paid. They try to get you to join with the smallest draw possible unless you speak up and explain that you can't possibly live on that kind of money for 60 days.

    Advice to Management

Paid the employee as soon as the checks clear. That is the reason most of have left

I have been working at Howard Sloan Search full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great group of people, very professional--love coming to work each day due to the people and support. I have been here for several years now as have many of my colleagues. Actually the average tenure is over 10 years. I would be hard pressed to find a nicer place to work.

    Cons

Not a lot of infrastructure and process which could be beneficial for new employees

    Advice to Management

Consider adding on-boarding capabilities for new employees and need to become more entrenched in building the company through the internet and social media
