I have been working at Howard University Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good doctors, teaching institution, helping to care for a population that is underserved in many cases. Much of the equipment is state of the art.

    Cons

The administration and management is horrific. They need to learn how to treat employees with respect. Communication is poor, the infrastructure is crumbling, and everything is very slow. No one in a position of power listens.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people who keep your lights on and doors open.

    Pros

There is tons of flexibility when it comes to recruiting and essentially you have the ability to sort things out on your own.

    Cons

Downside? There are tough times when it comes to recruiting, you really have to be creative. I have struggled, but its all about effort in a sense.
