I have been working at Hubbell Lighting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are good and work/life balance is good. The only good they offer.

    Cons

The company seems like they are going through the motions in order to do what they need to do human resources wise and to be named to the list of "Best Companies to work for in SC." Customer service department is a miserable place to work. It's a call center environment and it is horrible just like any other call center. It's just like every other big company. They get so big it's hard to navigate careers wise or opportunity wise. Also, you lose the family environment type feel of a small-medium size company. No team environment. Your just a number to management.

I worked at Hubbell Lighting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people, a little cliquish. Good pay/benefits, close to home. They do not require you to put in too many hours.

    Cons

Do not recognize the people who do the work, wrong people in management positions. Again, with the cliques it's hard to advance.

    Advice to Management

    Need a complete overhaul!

I worked at Hubbell Lighting full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The prestigious title of "Hubbell" on your resume. Brown nosing will get you promoted. No real work involved due to all the outsourcing, and if something goes wrong, you can blame other coworkers! Great place to work if you do not have a real Engineering degree (such as from DeVry), can say "yes sir" to all the upper managers, and have the ability to blame others.

    Cons

Hard work is frowned upon, and becomes a liability.

    Advice to Management

All of the good workers are leaving. Try to keep them, and get rid of the test manager.
