I have been working at Hudl full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Hudl is a fantastic place to work, we move with real purpose towards clearly defined long term goals.

Management are comfortable making bold adjustments to structure and process if it better positions us to make strides forward.

By far the best thing about working at Hudl is the team of people you will get to work with. This is really a credit to hiring processes and team behind it. On top of sourcing great people, Hudl provides enough structure and support to continuously challenge yourself with short and long term goals.

    Cons

Perks and generally okay but have been stripped back year on year since I started at Hudl.

Compensation varies wildly between employees. Anecdotally from speaking to colleagues there seems to be around 5X pay difference for similarly experience designers in different locations and at least 3X for engineers but probably more.

Pay rises and bonuses are calculated as a percentage of salary which will only widen this gap over time.

Napkin math puts some full-time engineers at the lower end of the scale <$50K with a number of year exp on a pretty even footing with better interns ($22/hr * 40 hour week pro rata + accommodation) which should tell you something isn't quite right here.

    Advice to Management

Employee churn rates have been a regular topic in recent months. Money is often not the main reason for people to leave but they are far less likely to start looking if they feel fairly compensated.

I think we should consider maximum differentials between people of similar roles and experience to at least reduce animosity within the culture.

I worked at Hudl full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free lunches, free housing for interns, lots of hands on experience

    Cons

Could have had better planning for how the internship ended.

    Pros

Hudl was an absolute great place to work! They work hard and have fun doing it.

    Cons

Desks are all pushed together like a big table. Not much privacy if you like working alone. But there's other spots you can migrate to which is nice.

I worked at Hudl full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Progressive, modern, great benefits, great culture and team. You will be pushed to better yourself and it can be a good thing with the right manager.

    Cons

Quick growth means growing pains. People selected for leadership and management roles out of necessity rather than ability which ultimately hurts the great culture.

    Advice to Management

Trust that you work with the best and watch out for internal politics poisoning the culture.

I worked at Hudl full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Transparent leadership
    Crazy awesome benefits
    Really smart team
Focus on professional development and growth
Huge growth potential as a company
    Value feedback (from all levels)

    Cons

Hudl is still figuring out how to be a large, successful, international company. I'd say the biggest thing they struggle with is workforce planning (under-hiring or over-hiring). They own up to their mistakes, though.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to everyone at the company - be available and approachable across all departments and levels. The larger you get, the harder that will be, but if anyone can do it, Hudl can.

    Pros

Very transparent company. Overall an exciting field and company to work for.

    Cons

Moves fast, and can sometimes feel like the "end" is greater than the "means" to get there.

    Pros

Benefits are good - the whole tickets to sporting events is pretty neat, but working in support with the hours/days we have, it makes it all but impossible to see a team you'd really like to.

    Cons

I know this might just be my experience, but my manager was a bit of a lame duck, and you can see friends of upper management get promoted or positions created to retain them - regardless of their quality of work.

    Advice to Management

Don't ignore a strong department and a competitive advantage
